Jaipur city's Name

Jaipur.  It is the capital of Rajasthan state located in North India.  The city was founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II of the Kachwaha dynasty on 18 November 1727.  Jaipur was built according to astrology and Vaastu Shastra.  The object planning of Jaipur was done by Pandit Vidyadhar Bhatt.  

Jaipur is known by many other names like Pink City, Chhoti Kashi, Paris of the East, City of Jems etc. 

1.Pink City 

At the time of construction of Jaipur city, the shops, houses and religious buildings built above them were painted pink, due to which pink color spread across the city at the time of sunrise and sunset.  That's why Jaipur is also called Pink City.

2. Chhoti Kashi 

Apart from tourist places in important historical places in Jaipur, there are also many temples filled with religious faith which make Jaipur a religious city.  Some of these major temples are:- Govind Dev Ji Temple, Khole Hanuman Ji Temple, Moti Dungri Ganesh Ji Temple, Birla Temple, Garh Ganesh Ji Temple etc.  That's why Jaipur is also called Chhoti Kashi. 

3. Paris of the East 

Jaipur city has been very famous among lovers due to its beauty and love-filled atmosphere.  That is why Jaipur is also called Paris of the East. 

4. City of gems 

Jaipur city is also famous for its jewelery and the beauty of the stones made here and the carvings done on them, hence it is also called the city of gems
